Disclaimer: My blog is to be used for general information, inspirational, and motivational purposes. I share things that I’ve learnt and experienced.  In case of need, do seek help from a professional in the relevant field.

On my self-improvement blog, I shared about what has helped me and believe that my readers can benefit from the same.

Here are 8 tips to make the most of:

1. Know your ‘why’

First, identify and define your life purpose, then know your values and set your goals. Knowing the reason behind what you want to achieve, is the first step to accomplishment. If you don’t truly believe in what you do, there will be no long-term effort in working towards your set goals, since you won’t remain focused and motivated to do so.

2. Wake up early

Make it a daily habit to wake up early. Research has shown that this is one of the top habits of successful people! Waking up early gives you more time to do productive things for yourself, before moving on with your day.

3. Healthy habits

Start your day by opening your window, breath in oxygen and fresh air (unless you live in an air-polluted area). Making your bed helps you start the day in an organized way. Drink water as soon as you wake up (and a minimum of 2-3 litres throughout the day). Daily fitness exercise, meditation, your skincare routine, are some of the must-haves for a healthier life!

4. Professional life

While commuting to and from work, whether you drive or take public transport, making the most of your valuable time would be great! How about listening to a podcast on productivity habits? Build on your personal growth, while killing time!!

At work, start to tick items off your to-do list, by completing the biggest task in the morning. Make sure that your list is relevant by removing any outdated or unnecessary work. Take regular breaks and allocate buffer time, so that in case of any unforeseen delays, you’re still on track!

5. Socialize

Meeting colleagues over lunch break to chat, makes work more fun and helps to build a circle of support. Network with clients (if applicable to your post), so that you build industry contacts, for future requirements. On the other hand, if you work from home, network through online channels and make sure to attend relevant physical events as well. Outside of work, keep in touch with your special mates.

6. Unwind

Once at home, take the time to unwind, relax and recharge! Have a bubble bath, foot massage, a hot chocolate… Play with your kids, spend time with family, have dinner together… Find what makes your day and practice self-care.

7. Journalling

While you set goals to work on, keeping a daily journal helps you keep track of your progress. You may also keep a journal to note down things that you’re grateful for, your emotions, simply a record of things that happened, or anything else that you prefer.

A daily journal helps you to reflect on your progress and note important things, so that you can take corrective actions to reach your intended goals.

8. Proper sleep

Make sure that you get enough sleep by going to bed and waking up at reasonable times, to remain alert and energized. Have no screen time before bedtime to ensure proper sleep and avoid eye strain.

You may make use of lavender essential oil in a diffuser, or other preferred scents, to help induce sleep. Drinking a warm glass of milk with honey may also be helpful.

Conclusion

While you can’t control everything about your life, knowing your ‘why’, planning for intentional living and of course taking the right actions, will bring you closer to living the life that you choose! Do you practice intentional living? Would you like to share how you plan for it? Please do so. Thank you!

  2. While I intentionally do most of these, journaling and waking up early are two habits I’ve always struggled with. After reading this I feel more motivated to start tomorrow by actually getting out of bed when my alarm clock goes off. Thanks!

  3. Oh this are all really good, for me especially the waking up early one! I feel like I get so much accomplished (because I do) if I get up earlier. But my issue is I tend to stay up too late🙄 Thank you for the post and visiting my page and follow my journey😃
