Do you happen to cut down on proper sleeping hours, live on junk food for days, refuse to take a break from work despite being exhausted and so on? 1. Not selfish!
There’s a common myth that practicing self-love is self-centered, selfish and egoistic! No, it isn’t. Taking care of oneself is essential for everyone. When you don’t first prioritize your well-being and happiness, you can’t do other important things afterwards.
2. Be yourself
Self-love is natural! Caring for yourself is part of being your true self. You need your identity to achieve what you truly want in life. You can’t live your life trying to be what you aren’t, just to please others.
3. Self-esteem
Self-love is closely linked to self-esteem. When you take the time to recognise your best qualities, learn to improve your existing skills and willingly eliminate bad habits (if any), then you harness your self-respect and self-esteem. People are attracted to those who are confident in what they do!
4. Self-care
Self-care is necessary for you to remain in good health, get important things done and also be able to support others close to you. For example, you need proper sleep to remain fresh and alert the next day, go to work and get back home to spend precious time with your family in the evening.
5. Emotional health
When you know your own value, you take the time to harness good emotional health. Sadness, anger or frustration are things that you work on to eliminate (if they do arise). Self-love is part and parcel of your overall wellness and well-being!
6. Healthy relationships
You need to care about yourself first, then you can do the same for others! While self-love isn’t selfish, you, in fact need it to be able to love and respect others. Start with yourself.
7. Productivity
Your performance depends much on how fit you are to do something. With self-love and self-care, you remain in shape to do things properly. Neglecting yourself will make you feel tired and decrease productivity level.
8. Inner peace
With self-love, you know that you’re great the way you naturally are! Although you always make efforts to improve yourself, you know that true happiness comes from within. Find joy in the simple things of life.
Conclusion
Self-love is a must for your holistic betterment. Take care of yourself and you’ll be at your very best in whatever you undertake! Do you have any tips to share? Please do so. Thank you!!

HI, Sharvi! Thanks for signing up to follow my blog. I am enjoying my visit to yours. I liked your tips on self-love. Mental health is certainly as important as physical health. Not sure you can have one without the other – for very long anyway. Keep up the good work!

You share some really great and very important tips here. It can be hard to remember to take care of yourself first. Being a parent, I often put the kids first, but when I get stressed I am not as effective as a parent, so I can relate to this a lot.

Taking care of onself is so impotant! I agree with you, but in my life I have to struggle a lot to make others respect the time I take for me! it’s crazy how some people would think they come first always!

Self-love is definitely something that can get ignored too easily as a mom. It’s so important for you and your kids to take care of yourself.

I learned early that the saying, “If momma ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy” was true. If you don’t take care of yourself you can’t raise happy, healthy children.

I didn’t realize how important self love is until I became a mom. That’s when I noticed I need that time for myself and it isn’t selfish because it helps me be a better mother to my boys.
