Personal branding is vital for almost anyone.  From a job seeker preparing his or her Curriculum Vitae to a professional with years of experience, we all need to be careful about how we present ourselves.  As an aspiring freelancer, helping people in this area could be interesting.

Who could you work with? People who need such services could be potential clients who are about to start a career, as well as those who are already employed and want to move on or improve themselves.  They could also be social media influencers, other types of freelancers, solopreneurs, public speakers, musicians, stars, and much more.

11. Graphic design

Graphic designs are much needed.  Many businesses either outsource it to freelancers if they can’t cater for it internally, or else, may use apps to easily create images.  However, the professional and uniquely original works of competent graphic designers are outstanding, compared to ready-made designs by apps that just need customization.

I used to run an online shop a few years ago.  While apps were handy for social media posts (and looked lovely), I always hired a freelance graphic designer for special projects that needed a perfect touch.

12. Photography

Photography skills are useful and can help many types of freelancers.  You may choose to become a photographer, shooting at events (at normal times, outside of the lockdown period), or may also take other types of photos (such as product or nature) and post them online.  

Other types of freelancers who could benefit from taking great photos are Instagrammers, influencers, and bloggers who need to display high-quality, professional-looking photos on their platforms for monetization reasons.  YouTubers need to make impressive videos as well, to stand out and be competitive.

If you’re determined about becoming a freelancer, start by selecting the right option for yourself, test the feasibility, learn the skills, have a business plan, market your services properly, network to find clients, and also keep learning and improving your skills.
