We all sometimes feel that we’ve failed, be it in our personal or professional life, our relationships, our dreams and desires, and more. How we react to this, makes all the difference… We could actually gain from failure!
Learn from mistakes
No one succeeds all the time, in fact, mistakes that we make, give us signals as to what should be improved, in order to have a better chance in future. Learning from your past mistakes is one of the most important and practical things that you could do!
Having a divorce doesn’t mean that you’re a failure. Instead, you could learn (if you choose to do so), to move on and to be better equipped, from then on. The more experienced you get, the more you can handle things constructively.
Improve skills
When we fail, we find ways that don’t work. This prompts us to find out what could actually work better. In the process, we are likely to end up improving our own skills and becoming more productive.
Have the right attitude
While your friend broods over a lost game, feeling discouraged and angry about life, you instead examine what your team should work on and motivate your team members, for better practice. You may or may not get the trophy at the final, but you’ll come across improvements. That’s also a form of success. It all depends on how you see it.
Set goals
Having specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time-bound (SMART) goals/objectives, serve as a guide. Monitoring performance will help identify what needs to be improved so that you move in the right direction. Review your set goals regularly, so that they remain valid.
Take risks
While we fail and learn many times in a lifetime, failing at an early stage and even with less investment (in business) is preferable.
Does failure lead to success? Yes, but only if you know how to use it to your advantage!
Quotes
“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.” – Winston Churchill, as on Brainy Quote.
“Being human means you will make mistakes. And you will make mistakes, because failure is God’s way of moving you in another direction.” – Oprah Winfrey, as on Brainy Quote.
“Remember your dreams and fight for them. You must know what you want from life. There is just one thing that makes your dream become impossible: the fear of failure.” – Paulo Coelho, as on Brainy Quote.
“Success is boring… failure is exciting and more entertaining.” – Anupam Kher, as on Brainy Quote.
Conclusion
As we all experience failures and successes, as part of our journey in life, I invite you to share your ideas about the topic. Thank you!
