Minimalist lifestyle
Minimalism has many benefits. It’s not that you haven’t got enough, you rather choose to make the most of what you have. Live happily with fewer possessions of high quality and not buy much unnecessarily.
There is so much to gain if you choose to adopt this approach to life. Although it’s merely a choice of lifestyle, I have seen that it’s brought me lots of advantages. My wardrobe isn’t overloaded, yet, I enjoy what I have. I also use my clothes, without going out of fashion.
1. Capsule wardrobe
This is something I came across on the internet and found interesting. It teaches you how to have a small (capsule) wardrobe. Learning about it can help guide you as to how to plan and accomplish such a handy way of managing your clothes.

I tend to use fewer clothes of high quality that last, classics that don’t go out of fashion. Working from home for over eight years (at the time of writing this blog post), I don’t need too many, anyway. I mix and match, using a colour palette that I prefer.
2. No shopping sprees
Another edge that you can have from a minimalist wardrobe, which is more of a by-product of embracing it, is not spending money needlessly. With the habit of sticking to the basics, you could better control your spendings. For example, you avoid buying multiple accessories, such as bags that take up space in your cupboard.
3. Tidy
It’s easier to keep things tidy in a decluttered closet. As the French people often say
“une place pour chaque chose et chaque chose à sa place“ ,
meaning ‘a place for everything and everything in its place’. This makes keeping things in order much easier, less time-consuming, and convenient.
4. Easy to clean
A tidy place is also easier to clean. You may or may not be doing the housekeeping at home, but someone sure does it. If not your chore, then another family member or a household worker could be handling such tasks. Those who do the work, know that having less laundry to handle can make the task trouble-free.

5. Easy to select
Choosing what to wear is simpler. No need to ponder about what to pick early in the morning, among so many options, and which accessories and styles to match. Less headache and more time to focus on the right things.
6. Well-chosen colours
With a planned and calculated colour palette, mix and match your clothes, bags, shoes, and other accessories. While you don’t have too many, you still can always find a great match. The right colours and style compliment you naturally.
My shoes, bags, and simple jewellery suit the clothes that I have. My tops vary in colours, but I can always match them easily with a pair of jeans, trousers, or a skirt. They all relate to my chosen colours, even though I don’t keep too many items in my wardrobe.
7. Classics
Scared of spending money on items that will get outdated? It’s better to invest in classics that always look contemporary. You can use them for years. On the other hand, trendy ones are often out of fashion soon.
8. High-quality fabrics
Wear classics that are made up of high-quality materials. They will last longer and still look fresh. Besides, you don’t need too many pieces.
I have a small shoe size and finding a wide range of models at the mall is often non-existent. Most people buy bigger sizes and manufacturers don’t produce much of my type. Buying fewer shoes of high quality that will last, in the right colours and models, help me to have enough to wear and for the longer term.
Last but not least, have you adopted such an approach? If not, would you like to start? I’ve used it for years and don’t regret it.

I kind of do this already. I don’t buy a lot of new clothes for myself anymore but try to find what goes together to make something new.
