Digital nomad blogger: 10 reasons to enjoy

Does being a digital nomad blogger excite you? Traveling the world and working anywhere sounds great. Read my article for the pros and (also) cons.

Disclaimer: I’m not a typical nomad blogger, as I normally work from home. Being a content creator itself, however, can open up such opportunities. I recently had a short-term stay and enjoyed it. Writing on the topic came to my mind, as it can benefit my readers. 

My experience

Most of the time, I operate from my home office. I recently seized the opportunity for a weekday escapade.  Staying a few days near the beach was a dream come true.

I experienced some of the things nomad bloggers do. It gave me some insight into their lives and habits. I’ll highlight what I gained in this article and also point out other advantages that full-time nomads get.

Pros 

1. Digital nomad blogger

A blogger can choose to travel and work at the same time. They do, however, need a reliable internet connection. With their device and a few personal belongings, they can move around the globe.

Typically traveling is for the long term. In my case, I just moved out of my home office for a few days. I not only got my most important work done, but relaxed and had fun.

2. Nomad travel

When traveling, know about the regulations. In some countries, you need a particular type of visa. It’s crucial to see the requirements of the relevant countries you want to visit.

With recent events around the world, various countries introduced nomad visas. This allows creators to work during their stay. It benefits the visitors, and the countries concerned.

Not only writers, but other types of content creators can take advantage of it. Many types of remote workers can travel around the world. From vloggers, podcasters, and digital product creators, to freelancers, there are various options.

Being a globetrotter is exciting. There’s a lot to see, do, and gain in many ways. It can be sometimes hectic. However, it tends to be fun, and many go for it.

With nomad work, you often only need an internet connection and your laptop. Renting an office isn’t a must. You can enjoy moving from city to city, country to country, on a budget.

Working in coffee shops, co-working spaces, and hotel rooms is convenient. During my weekday escapade near the beach, I used my room the most. I also sat near a swimming area with the soothing breeze blowing.

6. Choose your hours

Decide when you want to work and for how long. Never miss out on the joy of new places. Make a balance, and optimize both work and play.

In my short stay out of the office, I never missed out on entertainment. I also checked off all prioritized tasks on my agenda. I spent fewer hours working, focusing on my article draft and social media.

7. Nomad jobs

Finding work that you can do while traveling can be confusing at first. Consider your preference and the feasibility. Can you keep it for the long term?

I’ve worked on my terms in my home office for around a decade (time of writing). Even if I tend to remain in the same country, I manage my agenda as I want. I normally work for four to five hours a day, four days a week.

When you’re always moving, you meet new people. Learn and taste new cultures. Relish delicious food.

Life can be full of surprises. Every day is a new one. You always do new things.

Even build skills all the time. Being a content creator is never stagnant. In addition, when you’re a globetrotter, you get to see even more.

10. Ultimate freedom

The freedom from such a lifestyle attracts many. The flexibility of choosing your own hours brings opportunities for personal fulfillment. Living simply, on a budget, and traveling the world is something that many enjoy.

Being in my home office, itself, is a form of freedom. Real nomads experience much more. There can also be some things to watch out for, proactively.

Some disadvantages

There are various perks of such a lifestyle. As with everything in life, there are cons. Consider the not-so-desirable side as well.

Weigh the pros and cons for yourself. Think mindfully if such a lifestyle is right for you. Make the right decision for long-term success results.
