You may be a solopreneur, entrepreneur, blogger, influencer, freelancer, or perhaps not yet but planning on it. As a self-improvement blogger, I use different online tools and many have a free version. If you’re wondering about some handy solopreneur tools, read my article.

I’ll put together a list of 25 apps, software, and platforms.  Most of them are digital products that I use and would like to share with my readers (many of whom are also bloggers, solopreneurs, or entrepreneurs). I believe that we can all make use of some great tools.

Why are digital tools important?

In the online world, you have to stand out.  If not, you’re not seen.  No matter how outstanding your offer is, it has to be visible.  Finding great online tools is crucial.

Use the best free online tools when getting started.  You may give advanced paid features when you’re ready.  Compare tools online to find your best alternative.  Learn from others who have used them already.

Blogging

Having a blog or website is great.  Every solopreneur should consider having one for personal branding.  There are various types of platforms.

Self-hosting gives better control than others.  On the other hand, managed CMS is often easier for newbies.  Read to find platforms where you can publish online articles.

Graphics

I use Canva for my blog images.  I mostly customize with text and icons.  You get lots with the free version itself.

I also sometimes take photos.  If I make videos, they’re for Instagram reels.  As a beginner, I hone my vlogging skills to improve continuously.

Editing

For photo editing, I like Lightroom for my mobile phone photography.  The free versions are helpful.  However, you get more when paying.

Canva also provides editing features.  Before posting on Instagram, you can use the inbuilt features.  Add music, effects, text, filters, and more.

Writing

Grammarly is great for spell-checking and grammar.  It’s convenient for solopreneurs who normally work alone.  When solo, you often might not have anyone else in your home office.

Using professional services to proofread is great.  However, beginners might not have a budget for it yet.  The free version of Grammarly is handy.

Catchy headlines

Headline Studio by CoSchedule and MonsterInsights, both help you evaluate different headline options and guide you toward the best one for yourself. An attractive headline is a key to getting readers to visit your site, video, open emails, and more. If no one reads your outstanding work, how will they know about it? So, tweak your available options and choose the best one.

I wrote another article dedicated to better article titles.  If you’d like to find out more, head over to my other post.  You’ll find how great headlines support bloggers.

Monetization

There are many ways to monetize as a solopreneur. You may be interested in selling any type of product, be it physical, digital, or services. Running ads (if you choose to) can contribute to your revenue, depending on several factors. They include the number of views, content quality, and whether people are using ad blockers, among others.

Affiliate links and sponsored posts are other ways to work with brands.  The list of possibilities seems endless.  Get creative to find what’s feasible.  Some special ways are paid newsletters, memberships, and more.

Search Engine Optimization

SEO and backlink analysis should be a part of your strategy. Attracting visitors organically is important to reach those people who are looking for your products, and are therefore likely to be the right ones to convert into leads and sales.  You should also check and improve your site’s performance, such as the domain authority.

Always diversify your sources of traffic.  Go for organic search, social media, email list, or anything else possible.  Read my other article, if you’re wondering if SEO can still support bloggers (and others).

Closely linked to SEO, page loading speed is crucial.  I take full advantage of the Google PageSpeed Insights tool.  It’s free and easy to use for anyone.

Learn new skills

I enjoy building new skills all the time.  Learn by experience, from best practices, and benefit from the failures of others before you.  Skill-building is lifelong.

As a solopreneur, there’s always more to find out and grow personally. What’s great is that you can conveniently set your agenda to take online courses. Platforms that I love are Coursera, Udemy, and more.  Find out about the pros and cons of online learning subscriptions.

Email Opt-in

Try to start capturing visitors as early as possible and grow your email list. I took some time before doing so but used a productivity checklist as an opt-in. Other ways are offering a free 5-day course, or a free quiz and then sending the result by email.

Choosing the right platform is best.  Doing so, consider your goals.  If you prefer convenience and ease, it’s best for productivity.

Social media scheduling

Social media is free and can help boost your business. I post on 4 of them. Although some don’t drive much traffic unless anyone pays for ads, others do refer readers to my site.

You can find Tips from Sharvi on:

  • Twitter
  • Facebook
  • Instagram
  • Pinterest (more of a search engine, though)

I focus on my blog mainly but must say, social media is helpful. I have tried a few scheduling apps that have helped me.  I also prefer using native scheduling features, whenever available.

Get organized

Google Calendar is my best friend.  Be it personal life or blogging, it has me covered.  Working from home, my calendar tasks include personal and solopreneur to-dos.

Sukha supports my productivity.  It’s great to focus and has AI Coaches, concentration music, and more. Find out more on how it can boost your results, working smarter.
