My blogging experience 

I’m a blogger, not an SEO expert.  I’ve seen a difference from when I started 6 years ago (time of writing) and over the years.  I find that SEO isn’t dead, but is evolving constantly.

Organic traffic was easier before.  However, organic search is still my primary source of traffic (time of writing).  The WordPress Reader, social media, and email come after. 

I gain from the knowledge of SEO experts, and their findings.  I also follow what new changes are emerging.  Because of AI and other things, it’s crucial to stay informed.

As advanced SEO is rather technical, always stay updated with the changes.  In my article, I’ll illustrate how things still work.  This is based on what I’ve learned from the following experts and applied.

Why SEO is important for your website

Why is SEO important?  The level of traffic for many websites has declined (compared to previous years).  While things evolve, benefits are still here.  Stay informed about current best practices for better results.

Using current best practices supports better ranking.  Organic traffic is free and potentially brings leads.  Leads can choose to convert.  Organic traffic tends to be of high quality when visitors type relevant keywords. Use free ways to promote your blog, and/or pay if you wish to.

Your content should also solve their needs.  When readers land on your site, they can bounce off or stay.  Have good page speed.  Ensure that you cater to your ideal persona client needs.

Ranking higher supports brand authority.  The EEAT acronym stands for Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness.  With best practices, you have a better chance of showing brand authority.

User experience best practices and SEO best practices go hand in hand.  Optimizing your website supports UX.  For example, visitors stay longer and engage with your content.

Articles can drive traffic for longer.  If you compare, social media posts are shorter-lived.  Working smarter to write original, helpful articles is beneficial.

Some industries are more evergreen in content than others.  For example, for my self-improvement blog, many article topics remain relevant for years.  However, I do update older posts, improving them.

Is SEO still relevant?

People ask why is SEO important for businesses now.  While a lot keeps changing, best practices support you.  Stay alert for new developments.  See what proves to be effective, and apply.  Blogging also supports business.

There are opportunities to seize on changes.  You can choose to improve desired areas of your blog.  Monitor performance through handy tools for progress.

Google values high-quality content.  That’s an opportunity to work on.  Create original content that your audience needs.

There are ways to stay in the loop.  Follow best practices.  Keep an eye on how things evolve.  I find much of the info I need from online sources.  

Does SEO matter anymore?  I’d say it does.  Situations change, and they evolve.  However, the benefits are here.  Be equipped by staying informed, and embrace changes when needed.
