Have you ever been told that you should be like this and that you should be doing that… You should aim for the sky, and become a doctor, lawyer, or engineer to be successful? Otherwise, you’ll be a total failure in life? Does this sound familiar? However, I say that you’re great when you’re the best version of yourself. Read my blog post for more.
I’m a self-improvement blogger who’s always aiming at becoming better than what I was yesterday. In this blog post, I’ll highlight some key ways to show how you (and everyone) can be the best version of his/herself!
Here are my top 12 ways (I live by them myself and feel that they would benefit my blog readers):
1. Know your life purpose
To achieve what you value the most, you should clearly define your life purpose. Knowing it is vital to success. When you’ve identified your ‘why’, you know your true priorities.
2. Set the right goals
Knowing what you aim for, you can then set the right goals for yourself, and take action. Remain focused on your goals, track your progress, review and update set goals that are no longer relevant. Set newer ones, as and when needed.
3. Don’t procrastinate
Once you’re in the momentum, full of enthusiasm, keep going in the right direction. Procrastination is the enemy of productivity. Give up procrastinating for the joy, excitement, and fervor of progressing towards what you truly want to gain.

4. Overcome limiting beliefs
Limiting beliefs tell you that you’re not capable of doing things that you actually can. This could sometimes be part of the norms, the environment you’re in, being in the wrong circle of friends, and so on. However, being realistic and the best version of yourself, you can achieve so much!
5. Value genuineness
Being genuine, you attract things that you truly deserve. For example, when you behave like the person you truly are, meet up with sincere friends, dress up the way you prefer (no peer pressure, and at any age), you value, accept, and celebrate being yourself.

6. Say no when needed
Say no when you know you have to. Being a people pleaser will drain you out in the long-run, allowing ill-intended people to take advantage of you. Ultimately, you may end up wasting a lot of your time, and even risk getting hurt emotionally.
7. Speak up for yourself
It doesn’t mean being rude. Speaking up about your opinions makes you earn respect. Standing up for yourself is your right, as it is for everyone else. Make your idea clear, that’s all, there’s no harshness about it.
8. Value creativity
You’re the best version of yourself when your creative juices flow. Your uniqueness shows when you are being who you authentically are. This is the beauty of every human being.
9. Take calculated risks
Taking risk is a vital part of a business or any other type of endeavour. Some people are ready to take higher levels of risk than others. It’s often said that those who take more risk, are likely to gain the most (if they succeed), compared to those who take low or no risk at all.
Even if you’re not an entrepreneur, you’ll still take some risk during your lifetime. Learning from past failure is vital for progress. They are life lessons that bring wisdom.
10. Overcome your fears
Face your fears and overcome them. These are hurdles that get in your way. To move on, get rid of unwanted thoughts.
11. Growing personally
Lifelong and ongoing learning is your ally in life. You may choose to take formal education, you may also learn informally, but always keep growing personally. I enjoy online courses, especially with the lockdown in many countries (at the time of writing this blog post), when physical events are something to avoid.
12. Self-help resources
Self-help online courses are wonderful. You can learn at your own pace and from your home. Being the best version of yourself, you can work on building the skills and knowledge that you value the most.
You’re unique, special, and wonderful. Aim at being the best version of yourself, and you won’t regret it.
Conclusion
Being your true self is vital… So, be the best version of yourself! Would you like to tell us about your experience in the comments below? If you know someone who needs to read my post, please share it. Thank you!!

Number 1 is so important and the hardest to figure out but once you do the rest falls in line.

Very thought-provoking. I personally think 4, 6, and 7 can be the hardest to overcome, especially if you’ve been “conditioned” (for lack of a better word) to not speak up.

I like that post as it makes you think.. Number 1 is the hardest and I learnt to adhere to number 6 when I realised people were taking advantage of me when I was younger. As for calculated risks-that is part of my DNA!
