Find work process examples tailored to content creators. Also, find blogger and vlogger-specific steps. These impact your productivity level, and even, success results.
I have been a blogger for 8 years (updated). I currently publish 2 new articles every month (updated), while refreshing others. I also create reels as a vlogger. However, my blog remains my primary platform.
Over the years, I’ve experienced what works best for me. Blogging changes often, and keeping up with the latest is crucial. I’ve also gained by learning from industry experts’ best practices.
For some time already, AI tools have made content creation easier. However, the quality generally tends to be lower. Creating original pieces is more valuable than ever, with a human, personal touch.
Through my article, I’ll encourage originality. The work processes I’ll highlight support originality. However, you can incorporate handy apps into your system. Work smarter, instead of harder, as far as possible.

Productivity to work smarter
How does my work process support me? Productivity brings better results. I slay my goals and meet deadlines. The quality also benefits. Having a work process is important because it makes a positive difference. Along with following the steps that I’ll list below, I ensure good time management.
1. General content creation
Content creation flows in a natural and logical sequence. It’s not hard to figure out how to achieve it. However, use best practices to save yourself precious time.
Steps:
- Brainstorm topic ideas
- Plan your tasks
- Research for the best
- Create the content
- Post-Production
- Publish at the right time
- Promote through other channels
- Analyze insights
Find relevant topics that are worth it. Know what your ideal persona needs, and use it as a guide. Choose the best options.
Plan how to go about creating. Take into consideration your goals. For example, what do you want to achieve with this post? Is it to inform, or get sales?
Research for quality information. Also, add your own touch and experience. Use stats and anecdotes.
Post-production, edit, and polish. Find what’s missing and improve. Add your final touch.
Schedule your post for publication. Choose the right time, when your subscribers are likely to be online. Spread the word for your new post on different channels.
Be ready to respond to comments. Be it on your blog or social media, do show up to reply. The benefits of receiving feedback are valuable.
Use analytics to measure performance. Find out what did well and why. Also, pinpoint what needs improvement.
2. Specific blogging steps
Already included in the general content creation process, blogging has some additional specificities. These are innate to this activity. The format and platform used give certain unique requirements.
Steps:
- Select your topic
- Research thoroughly
- Outline your article
- Write your post
- Edit for any unwanted stuff
- Proofread to remove errors
- Format it
- Optimize it
- Publish it
- Promote it
- Analyze stats
Conduct keyword research for different platforms. Doing so helps with organic search and social media. SEO still matters, but keeps evolving.
When writing articles, outlining is crucial. It keeps you focused on the right things. You also save tons of time. Your outline acts as a guide.
Format your blog posts. Ensure readability by using subheadings, short paragraphs, and bullet points. I also sometimes insert tables when it helps my readers to digest info easily.
When promoting your articles, never rely on only 1 platform. Diversify your traffic sources. I use social media and email.
Examine stats to learn about your visitors. I use Google Analytics and Jetpack. Both provide useful insights for better decision-making.
3. Vlogging steps
As blogging has its special needs, so does vlogging. These come with making videos. Once more, the general content creation process applies, although with more specific stages.
Steps:
- Pre-Production tasks
- Record your video
- Post-Production stage
- Promotion your videos
- Boost engagement
- Evaluate results
Plan, script, equipment setup, record, edit, export, upload, and publish. The flow is natural. Beginners to advanced vloggers follow this process, although at different levels of expertise.
I use my phone for basic editing. I publish reels and use Instagram music. YouTube long-form videos (which I currently don’t do), take more time than short Instagram reels.
With videos, always ensure good lighting. If you’re a new vlogger, read my other post for beginners. It highlights how to get started.
Work process improvement
Your system will evolve over time, as you need to tweak and improve it. For example, I started with a certain workflow as a newbie. However over time, I gradually further polished it.
I always aim to work smarter, boosting productivity, and saving time. I also focus on improving results. Technology changes often, and there are new skills to hone as well.
Better processes boost productivity
Adopt the workflow that satisfies your chosen activity. Review it from time to time. Ask yourself what you can improve in your creation system.
I review my calendar to-do list, task-batch, and eliminate any duplication. Although I keep my blogger and vlogger processes for the long term, my workflow changes as and when needed. This is of great productivity benefit and reflects my actual needs.
Find a workflow that brings you the best results. Over time, review it to ensure that it still meets your needs. Tweak it if needed, for better results. Repeat after some time to keep it relevant.
Conclusion
Use the work process examples in my article. Hone it for your best use. Develop it over time and adapt it according to current needs.
