Have you any talents?  Of course, you do.  Everyone does, but not everyone takes the opportunity to boost and hone their talents and skills.  If you need ideas about suitable activities, then read my article.

As a self-improvement blogger, I’ll share 100 helpful activities for boosting talent.  I practise some myself, although not all.  Enjoy the list.

Intellectual hobbies

These help to learn about new things and boost personal growth.  You can choose to expand your skills and know-how in a wide range of areas.  Those listed below are just a few examples.

  • Reading
  • Online courses
  • Learn a new language
  • Creative writing

I love reading to broaden my knowledge of many things.  I research and write articles as well.  No need to say, my self-improvement blog brings me much as I benefit both personally and professionally.

Monetization

While honing your know-how, it’s also possible to monetize and get some extra cash.  When you enjoy and value something, it’s fun.  It’s even better if you get paid for it, knowing that you’re performing at a high level!

  • Blogging
  • Podcasting
  • Vlogging
  • Start budgeting
  • Start a side hustle
  • Invest in bonds and other financial products
  • Sell second-hand items
  • Mow the lawn
  • Give tuitions

I blog as a hobby and have been paid as well by brands that I work with.  I recently started making some videos.  Vlogging is on the rise and learning how to make videos opens up new opportunities.

Creativity

Creativity is great.  It’s also something that we can all learn and develop if needed.  There are many activities that you can choose from.

  • Knitting
  • Crocheting
  • Embroidery

  • Jewellery handicraft

I learnt how to knit and crochet as a child and made a few dresses for my doll.  Although I don’t practise it anymore, they’re interesting things.  I took drawing, pottery and cooking classes at school.  Nowadays, I find the need to hone my photography knack.

Artistic

This section of my article refers to musical arts.  Be it for fun or even to perform at a professional level, music is great!  There are many styles and genres and everyone has his or her favourite choices.

  • Play the guitar
  • Play the piano
  • Play drums
  • Play the flute
  • What about the violin?
  • Listening to music
  • Learn a dance style

I learnt ballet and Indian classical during my childhood.  As a teenager, I loved dancing to trending music.  Now, I just watch YouTube videos.

Playing games

Learn how to play like a pro and win!  This is an amazing time, full of fun, excitement, and challenge.  Healthy competition is great for personal growth and you all benefit when involved in such challenges.

  • Video games
  • Playing cards
  • Playing scrabbles
  • Play sudoku
  • Play chess

While video games are all about technology, the others I listed above are rather traditional ones.

Find your favourite one/s and practise regularly to stay fit.  Do respect social distancing if needed.

Relaxation

Relaxing is a daily must.  While you work hard (and smart as well), to be able to reinvigorate is vital.  Staying away from burnout is key.

  • Yoga
  • Meditation
  • Mindfulness
  • Tai chi

I enjoy yoga, meditation and mindfulness every day.  Spending time in nature and my garden is so serene!

The activities listed below tend to be more popular with men.  However, anyone can enjoy practising.  Always do what you love most.

  • Martial arts
  • Boxing
  • Weight lifting and bodybuilding
  • Car racing
  • Fishing

I don’t practise any of them, however, I like watching such professionals on TV.

Beauty treatments

Beauty care tends to be for women.  However, everyone needs personal care.

  • Reflexology
  • Acupressure
  • Skincare treatments
  • Enjoy essential oils
  • Hairdressing
  • Manicure
  • Pedicure
  • Nail art
  • Henna tattoo

I once took some professional courses in beauty therapy.  However, I later studied Business Administration and moved to another field.  I enjoy pampering myself as part of my daily routine.

Self-improvement

Self-help is a great way to grow personally and always improve.  Lifelong learning is your ally in progress and success.  Learning can be formal, informal, and at any age.

  • Embrace lifelong learning
  • Mentoring
  • Volunteering
  • Learn video editing
  • Practise public speaking
  • Sharpen financial skills
  • Sharpen marketing techniques

I follow online courses and often recommend them on my blog through affiliate links.  I studied for my degree and much of it was online.  I just love the flexibility and convenience, as I was already working full time.

At home

There are things that you do at home.  Finishing chores and embellishing your house are normal tasks.  However, if you’re passionate about them, then learning a few hacks could have brilliant results.

  • Declutter your home
  • Decorate your home
  • Paint your house
  • Learn Feng Shui
  • Learn Vastu Shastra
  • Repair your car

I strongly support the benefits of decluttering.  It helps me in being more productive while I work from home.  The look of a minimalistic space just does wonders to the mind and I feel relaxed.  I love simple and contemporary furniture that’s easy to clean.

Success-driven and life goals

Setting life goals and New Year’s Resolutions are normal things that many people do.  If you want to make the most of them, then adopt some proven techniques such as setting SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound) goals.  Most importantly, don’t give up and work on them.

  • Daydreaming with action-taking
  • Start a vision or dream board
  • Goal-setting and life purpose

I have my vision board on my phone so that I look at it often.

Miscellaneous ideas

These are some interesting things that are handy and can boost knack.

  • Gardening
  • Stamp collection
  • Petcare
  • Scrapbooking

  • Learn magic tricks
  • Palmistry
