Why is blogging important for business? You could be considering if all the effort is worth it. Read my article to see how you can benefit from publishing articles.
I’m a solopreneur, a blogger, and have previous corporate work experience. As a business student, I learned many things that I now apply in solopreneurship. My blog is currently a side hustle.
In my article, I’ll highlight blogging business success, and why you need it. I’ll first consider the benefits it has to a wide range of business types, and then move to those at the individual level. Whatever the size of an organization, it helps.
1. What is blogging?
Simply said (and in my own words), it’s a form of content creation. It’s mostly made of text. Articles also can contain images, embedded videos, audio, diagrams, and so on.
A marketing channel for business growth, you should take advantage of! A blog on your website is terrific when done properly. Use it for the better, as I do.
Benefits for businesses
Articles are a great means to educate your audience. Large-sized, small-sized businesses, and individuals, can all use it. There are multiple examples that I’ll list in this post.
Benefits at the individual level
Individuals could be professional bloggers, side hustlers, freelancers, coaches, and more. Have your goal in mind. Nail down your specific approach.
Blogging as a side hustle can be fun while earning some extra cash. My side hustle also brings me intrinsic benefits for personal growth. Read my other post, if you’d like to find out more about writing and vlogging as a gig.
2. Will blogging make money?
It’s natural to ponder over the feasibility. Why would you invest time and energy into an activity for nothing? Unless it’s purely a hobby, you’d want to know if it’s worthwhile.
Sites can make nothing to six or eight figures. Lots of factors contribute to success. You need patience, dedication, and perseverance.
It’s also not a get-rich-quick scheme. Although some sites grow faster than others, it requires consistency. I’ve been blogging for 5 years and got my first payment after the 1st anniversary of my site.
There is more to blogging reality. It’s not always easy. If you’re a newbie, read to see the 15 harsh lessons I learned at the start.
3. Examples of successful bloggers
There are billions of such sites in the world. While searching online for an exact figure, I currently find that there are around 600 million! I’ve made a short list of successful examples.
Here are 3:
- ProBlogger
- Neil Patel
- Income School
These are not the only ones, and you can find lots more. However, they’re some of the popular ones that I follow. Learning best practices from the experts is crucial.
4. Business blog examples
There are endless ways to use articles. It differs from industry to industry. The size and nature of the organization counts. Your products and services also affect the approach.
Most importantly, talk to your ideal personas. With a personal touch, address their pain points, and offer solutions. When you try to talk to everyone at the same time, your message might get lost.
As an individual with a niche, you have a better chance to be personal. On the other hand, a large multinational often targets everyone. There is scope for very little personalization and tends to be standard.
5. Business blog writing
You may write for various reasons. You could aim to educate, and eventually make sales. My post shows how sales funnels can help. Find out more about using attraction marketing.
Larger organizations normally have dedicated staff for content creation. They could also work with influencers. High-income individual bloggers could choose to work with freelancers, especially if they own various sites.

6. Organic search free traffic
One of the greatest advantages is free organic traffic. With a good SEO strategy, you can aim to rank on the first page of Google. It’s highly competitive, so I go for longer-tail keywords. Various of my posts rank, and bring me free traffic.
Businesses often pay for ads and go for SEO simultaneously. Paying for social media ads is also popular. I prefer having traffic through organic search, social, and email.
7. Grow your email list
A crucial means is to build your email list. You contact those who have opted in. Unlike social media, your subscribers are more likely to find your important messages in their inbox.
Generate leads, and nurture them. Prefer the right subscribers and followers in your niche, for better chances of making sales. Be open to feedback, and eager to always improve your product or services.
8. AI and EEAT needs
AI is a helpful tool. You save time and work smarter. However, if not used properly, it could have an adverse effect. Stay away from ‘me too’ content by adding your unique experience. I prefer using AI only for research and then writing original text.
EEAT stands for Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness (more from google.com). Experience has added a double E to the acronym. Find the right balance for yourself if you choose to use AI smartly.
9. Storytelling is captivating
Utilize storytelling for a mesmerizing effect. People connect with other people, not lifeless businesses. Show your personal touch for better client relationships.
Bloggers tend to be personal brands. On the other hand, other types of businesses have to find ways to build trust (unless they’re among the top multinationals). Solopreneurs such as freelancers and coaches often do present themselves as a personal brand.
Being natural and genuine often brings the best results. Showing the real you builds a better connection. In my other post, you can see how storytelling can support you professionally.
10. Repurpose what you create
Work smarter by repurposing your best-performing articles. Customize them into the right formats, better suited for specific platforms. Share them in text, images, and video formats.
Test to see what performs better. Use the right CTAs at the right places, at the right time. Cater to the needs of your ideal personas. Read another of my posts for more tips on how you can repurpose content for free.
Have a well-planned strategy for success
Although the tactics are important, they all should align with your long-term goals. Having a strategy is a must. Your content is a crucial part of it.
Find some key tips for applying your business strategy blogs:
- Improve SEO through current best practices
- Relationship-building with your potential clients
- Promote your products or services
- Share relevant and helpful content for better engagement
- Find new prospects and eventually convert them
- Build a community
- Become a thought leader
- Right topics for your articles
- Create engaging and informative content
- Measure the success of your efforts
What currently works best, might get outdated later. Be open to lifelong learning. Always hone your skills, enjoying the journey.
