Have you ever been told that you need to take a healthier approach to food? Did you then consider eating differently and say to yourself that healthy foods are so boring? In this blog post, I’ll tell you about some inspiring foods that I find healthy, yet tasty!
This blog post contains my personal opinion about healthy foods that are also tasty. I’m giving suggestions to my readers about foods that I prefer.
First of all, you always want to make sure that you consume foods that are in line with healthy eating habits. A daily healthy, nutritious diet is a must. Drinking plenty of water goes hand-in-hand with that. Make sure that you take adequate portions of foods that contain the right balance of protein, vitamins, minerals and so on.
1. Organic vegetable
Favour lots of vegetables. If possible, try to find those that are organic. They may be hard to find, depending on where you live, and tend to be expensive. I love the taste of truly organic vegetables and relish the absence of pesticides in them.

2. Pure honey
Are you struggling against a sweet tooth? I loved sugar as a child. However, over the years, I’ve been able to control myself. I avoid stocking sugary delicacies at home so that I only treat myself when I go out. I also prefer using pure honey to sweeten my beverages at home.
3. Dark chocolate
This is a saviour if you love chocolate! Instead of going for milk chocolate, I prefer dark chocolate. This helps to control sugar intake. I enjoy a maximum of 70 % dark chocolate in a product. If above that amount, I find it too bitter for my taste. However, do consume in moderation, as with anything else.
4. Fruits
Fruits are wonderful! Since I suffer from sinus, I often eat oranges or tangerines for breakfast. I also like to be creative when I make smoothies. The variety of flavours that I obtain from adding different ingredients is remarkable. I also add aloe vera to my fruits.
5. Nuts
Almonds, cashews, walnuts are some of the goodies from the nut family. They each contain nutrients and can be added to cakes, oats (the way I enjoy them), and more. Get creative and incorporate them into your daily life.
6. Oats
Oatmeal is a popular breakfast dish. While it tends to taste bland on its own, you can add flavour according to your choice. I make it creamy by adding milk and vary the other ingredients on different days. Experiment with nuts, dry seeds, yogurt, honey…
7. Herbal teas
Herbal teas are tasty while having multiple benefits. They often contain spices, herbs and other ingredients that help build a better immune system, have detox effects and more. You can either buy them or make your own from scratch with the basic things that you have in your kitchen.
8. Coffee or tea
Are you a coffee or tea lover? I’ve mostly been faithful to my morning tea for years. However, for the past few weeks, I’m choosing to have coffee with breakfast! I also take extra precautions not to have an excess of caffeine intake, since I tend to get insomnia.

Vegan diet
I’m not here to convince you or argue about veganism… I eat vegetarian foods (rather than strictly vegan) on most days of the week and limit myself to fish or seafood only once or twice a week. I’ll point out that due to increases in health concerns around the world, adopting a healthy diet is important, as this can save everyone from many diseases. Making an effort to eat more veggies has diverse benefits.
No indulgence
As far as excessive intake of alcohol and cigarettes is concerned, do be cautious! Having a healthy lifestyle with regular exercise, proper sleep, digital detox and family time is the cornerstone of true happiness.
Cooking methods
Whenever possible, I prefer to bake dishes, using less fat. I tend to add more oil when I cook sauté, be it vegetarian or non-vegetarian. I came across an air fryer, which is also a good alternative to deep frying.
Conclusion
Cheer up! Having a healthy diet doesn’t have to be boring… eating only boiled and tasteless dishes. Enjoy nutritious foods by being creative and adding flavours that excite you.
