How to find low-hanging fruits, especially when blogging?  Why miss out on convenient ways that bring results? Read my post for more.

Throughout my blogging journey, I’ve valued working smarter.  My niche also supports doing so.  I share a lot about productivity and content creation with my readers.  Self-improvement is at the center of my site.

Low-hanging fruits meaning

Low-hanging fruits can be defined as those tasks that are the easiest to accomplish.  Find the Cambridge Dictionary definition as well.

‘something that is easy to obtain, achieve, or take advantage of

In the blogging context, they’re saviors!  You can easily (and also often quickly) achieve them.  They can also potentially make a significant difference to your blogging success.  Save yourself time, and why not get better success results conveniently?

Low-hanging fruits examples

As my article headline indicates, my post will focus on bloggers.  However, easily achieved tasks are generally for everyone’s benefit.  Seize the opportunities that are within reach to grab.

Here for bloggers especially:

  • Freshness
  • Speed improvement
  • Linking
  • SEO
  • Repurpose
  • Reshare
  • Network
  • Feedback
  • Email list
  • Skill building

Freshness

Fresh content is crucial for good UX.  Update your articles for the better.  It can take a few minutes, depending on the complexity.  Properly updated posts are also known to bring SEO gains.

I aim to update different articles each month.  It’s effortless, compared to my new articles.  I also add editor’s notes at the end of the posts.

Speed improvement

Site speed is crucial to blog performance.  Visitors want it to load quickly, or else they bounce off.  It’s crucial to your website’s success, being one of the key factors that contribute to it.

I quickly work on my site speed by replacing images.  I prefer graphics that are lighter in size.  Using plugins is also a great option, especially for self-hosted sites.

Linking

Links can be internal or external.  They should add value, either way.  Internal linking is a great way to encourage readers to stay on your blog.

I update articles and also add or replace them with relevant links.  Checking for broken links is a must.  Never leave bad ones, as readers are likely to get frustrated.

SEO

SEO happens everywhere, be it on search engines, social media, and all over.  Tackle easy tasks to drive visitors easily.

I find relevant keywords to add in Google Search Console.  It shows me what my article already ranks for, that I haven’t added yet.  I then add those keywords if relevant.

Repurpose

I like to highlight my best tips on social media.  For example, I take what works on my blog, and use it for an Instagram reel.  Vlogging with tips that have already proved themselves for my niche saves time.

It takes only a few minutes to repurpose.  Adjust the content of an existing post to suit another platform.  Share your idea with a wider audience.

Reshare

It takes less than 1 minute to share an existing article on social media.  It’s great, especially when you’re short on time.  However, avoid sharing stale info without updating it first.

I’m currently active on social media daily.  I post the least on Facebook, compared to the other platforms I use.  Alongside creating new content, I also sometimes reshare older articles.

Network

Networking is time-consuming but brings good results when done correctly.  However, it’s not always possible to meet your peers at physical events.  Online networking should also be a part of your plan.

I mostly do online networking, as it’s the most convenient for me.  I’ve found lots of fellow bloggers through the WordPress Reader.  I also joined relevant Facebook groups.  By attending webinars, find other participants through interactive activities.

Feedback

Gather feedback whenever possible, as it helps.  Knowing what your ideal audience needs is valuable.  You can then serve them better.

I gain much from reading the comments I receive.  Even when challenging, I appreciate it.  Learn from the feedback you get, and use it to improve.

Email list

Building and growing an email list is one of the best things you can do.  Visitors who land on your blog might never find it again.  Have lead magnets, so that those interested can opt into your newsletters.

I hadn’t started my list when my blog was still new.  I did so after quite some time.  The best is to start right away, as far as possible.

Skill building

Learning is never-ending.  Blogging evolves endlessly, and keeping up is essential.  This seems time-consuming, however, there are low-hanging fruits here too.

I use flexible methods to keep myself informed of new evolution and industry news.  It’s at my pace, and convenient.  For example, webinar replays help to catch up with relevant information.

Blogger essentials are crucial components of your strategy.  They support your blog and are must-haves.  You can find out more by reading my other post.

With minimal work, you can improve your blog’s success.  List the tasks that get you the best results with little effort.  Start tackling them for the better.

Conclusion

Low-hanging fruits are opportunities to seize.  In different aspects of life, they support you.  In the blogging context, as well they’re valuable, as I highlighted in my article.
