Vlog life meaning

Vlog life isn’t a formal term.  However, I’d say it can be seen as vlogging about your daily life.  It can also be seen as the general, collective vlogging experiences of content creators.  These include those in different niches.

In a nutshell, I’ll highlight how content creators who make videos benefit from their activities.  I’ll also illustrate how I live it through examples.  You’ll find insights into the gains and see what’s in it for you.

This article will be handy for aspiring vloggers considering starting.  It will also support more experienced ones in reevaluating the gains.  Either way, it’s a smart approach to consider the advantages of any activity before investing your time and other resources.

Personal and professional gains

There are both personal and professional advantages.  Vloggers gain at the individual level.  They also gain professionally, often as solopreneurs working on their own terms.

My personal gains include personal growth.  For example, I started blogging as a hobby, and it became my side-hustle.  My blog is also present on social media, including vlogs.

The term professional in this context isn’t normally corporate.  Content creators are often self-employed.  For example, as part of my affiliate marketing activities, I use different platforms.

Self-improvement 

Self-improvement is inevitable.  You’ll start by learning lots.  Not only as a newbie, but throughout your content creation journey.  

I’ve been on Instagram for years; however, I leveled up reels more recently.  Compared to blogging, I have to show my face and even speak on camera. 

You can choose a completely faceless account if you prefer.  However, showing up makes a difference.  You build a better connection with your audience.

Skill-building 

I hone my skills ongoingly.  A platform like Instagram changes often, or even constantly.  This makes reel creation always exciting, not stagnant.

Skills improve gradually and over time.  Perfection isn’t a must; you just have to dive in to start.  Gathering feedback and improving is natural with social media.

Self-confidence 

Speaking on video is challenging.  That’s even more for introverts.  As an ambivert, I broke the ice, and the rest is history.  Don’t procrastinate or overthink, just post your first video.

Part of the gain is a higher level of self-confidence.  You can decide not to show your face and not speak at all.  However, if you decide to show up, you’ll fight camera shyness for the better.

Overcome challenges

There are challenges as with anything else in life.  Vlogging isn’t for everyone.  However, if it’s for you, take calculated risks.

I was only used to blogging for years.  However, I recognised that relying on my blog solely is risky.  I chose to diversify my traffic sources and started a vlog too.

Although I currently have only a few hundred followers on Instagram, I gain from different platforms.  They all add up to drive traffic to my landing pages, which are hosted on my blog.  

I segment the right landing page for the right type of audience.  For example, bloggers get to visit my online business tools page.  Vloggers, on the other hand, find relevant vlog online courses.

Networking opportunities 

Content creators have the opportunity to find other creators.  It’s handy to network with your peers.  Support each other through platform engagement, post collaborations, or even work together.  

I find online networking the most convenient.  It saves time, but also lacks the personal face-to-face human contact.  Having a combination of both is often best, as far as possible.

Content creators have lots to gain.  It takes time and effort.  You have lots to benefit from, and so does your audience!
