I love ice cream! Don’t you? I honestly have never met anyone who ‘hates’ ice cream! What’s so special about this delicacy? Why do we feel tempted to have a lick, as soon as we see one of these? Is it the appearance? is it the chill? Does it bring back past golden memories of carefree childhood…??
I’m allergic to cold, or directly said, have started developing sinus at an early stage. This means that I have to watch my ice cream intake during winter, and also not make an abuse of, for the rest of the year. Lucky are you, if you don’t have to obey such restrictions!
Ice cream is ‘a soft, sweet frozen food made with milk and cream and typically flavoured with vanilla, fruit, or other ingredients’, as per the Oxford Dictionaries. Generally served in a dish / cup or licked from a cone, the variety of flavours is wide, and creative ways to serve them, are endless! This yummy ‘péché mignon’ (sweet temptation) can be incorporated with other desserts, such as cakes, pies, sundaes, milkshakes, and more.
Different types of ice cream and also ice cream-like desserts, have their origins in various parts of the world, making frozen desserts famous and widespread. Some ice cream-like desserts are known as gelato (Italian, with lower-fat milk than ice cream), frozen yogurt (made of yogurt instead of ice cream, low-fat), sorbet (fruit puree, often vegan), and there are more.
While I greatly enjoy these frozen indulgences, the second reason to abstain, is the fat content. Luckily, there are alternatives that help from time to time, such as the sorbet, frozen yogurt, and other low-fat desserts. Watching our weight to remain fit, eating healthily, having enough sleep, breathing fresh air, drinking lots of water, and exercising daily may all seem like tasks, but we truly benefit from doing them, don’t we?
As I looked for more and more alternatives that help me remain in good shape, satisfy my sweet tooth, while giving me the chill, I’ve tried different frozen foods and recipes. In case you’d like to know about these, and find some recipes, then you may contact me through private / direct message at Twitter / Facebook / or Instagram.
While you spoil yourself and maintain your good health (at the same time), you discover things that are of value. Would you like to share your ice cream experience? Please do so (kindly abstain from naming brands / only post a link if informative). Thank you!

Gluten-free ice cream is a nice alternative, don’t you think? I like frozen yogurt and even fruits popped in the fridge become a healthy cold treat.

Bananas freeze really well and can be substituted as icy treats for kids. They also make a very passable icecream if blended with some yoghurt and vanilla.
