Have you seen the benefits of the Most Important Tasks productivity strategy? I’ve used it, personally as well as for blogging. Read on to see how it supports you for better success.
Throughout my blogging journey (nearly 8 years, updated), I’ve been keen on productivity. Working smarter is crucial, and I share what works on my blog. I’ve been practicing the approach, even before I realized it!
Working solo has its perks. It’s, however, also challenging. You have to hold yourself accountable for your progress and, success. Getting more done in a limited time has benefits.
What is the MIT productivity strategy?
It’s a simple plan that works. Identify, focus, and prioritize your most crucial to-dos. Do so every single day. How do you decide which projects are the most important?
Easy steps to practice daily:
- Identify your MIT (Most Important Task)
- Prioritize
- Block calendar time
- Focus
- Evaluate performance
It’s a strategic approach, as it brings great benefits. Although it’s about daily to-dos, it’s more than of operational (day-to-day) importance. Adopting it has long-term benefits when truly embraced.
Identify and prioritize
You may find 1 MIT or even 2 or 3 a day. Prioritize them, as completing them is key to success. They count towards your longer-term (strategic) goal achievements.
Block time
Use the time-blocking approach to allocate the best slots on your calendar. I prefer mornings when I feel fresh. Early morning is often when I get the most done faster.
Focus
How to focus on the most important tasks? Knowing your priorities, you can better focus on them. Save time by avoiding undue distractions. Give the best of yourself to what matters most.
Evaluate performance
At the end of each day, assess. How well did it go? Evaluate the quality of your results.

Better productivity
See your productivity levels improve. It’s natural when you’re focused, avoiding distraction. Isn’t it easier to accomplish more in less time?
Stay motivated
Remain motivated when you’re on track. Meet deadlines, and feel the control you have over your time. Work on meaningful goals to stay motivated, and prioritize your Most Important Task (1 or more).
Avoid multitasking
Say no to juggling, as it’s counterproductive. Instead of coping with multitasking by reducing it, avoid it as much as possible. Focus on your few priorities of the day, and work smarter.
Clearer priorities
When you identify your MIT to work on, life is simpler. Don’t overcomplicate your agenda. Determine your true priorities for the better.

Take the opportunity to hone your skills. Doing so brings more opportunities. Get closer to your set goals.

When you finish projects on time, you meet deadlines. This gives a sense of satisfaction. You feel your best, and ready for your next MIT on the list.
How bloggers specifically gain

Staying organized, I finish work on time. Focusing better on one thing at a time brings serenity. It boosts my creativity level for better content creation.
On my list of to-dos, reporting is key. My most popular MITs include writing my articles However, analyzing stats and reporting is also crucial on certain days of the month. It indicated what tactics were working and what needed my attention.
Monetization is likely to be a priority for many content creators. If you’re not a hobbyist, you’re concerned. Always work on those goals consistently.
Social media is secondary to my blog. It does, however, have a special place on my agenda. I create new content, repurpose older ones, and schedule daily on weekdays.
SEO is inevitable, although it changes all the time. In addition to organic search, use email, social, media, and more. In other words, diversify your sources of traffic. Never rely on only 1 source.
Content creators network to find new connections. I do most of mine online, as it’s more convenient. Meeting your peers face to face is great for building a stronger community.
Some other crucial actions worth noting are more administrative. They might not be urgent, but are inevitable. Use the Eisenhower matrix to decide which is which.

I think that is very good advice. I am just wondering what MIT stands for. I get from what you are writing what it is, but it looks like an acronym, and I am wondering what it stands for.
