What is life management, and how can you make better use of it?  It’s something that everyone can use and benefit from.  Find ideas and examples in my article, with a special focus on content creation (for illustration).

How to manage life is a question you can ask yourself in times of overwhelm.  Is it about a few task urgencies that coincide, or is there more to it?  Taking a bird’s eye view can be helpful in such moments to better understand and pinpoint what needs your attention.

In a nutshell (and in my own words), life management takes a holistic approach, including all aspects of your life.  It’s more than just your productivity levels at daily tasks and time management.  It encompasses your personal goals and well-being for a comprehensive outlook.

Life management examples

Life management is broad.  I’ll break down some key aspects that concern everyone, generally.  After that, I’ll come to more creator-specific examples.

What are life management skills, along with relevant examples?

Strategy

Take proactive actions for your goals.  Set personal goals and plan how to reach them.  Identify and overcome barriers.

Self

Conduct a SWOT analysis (for more information on the framework, you can refer to Wikipedia).  Know your strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.  Use this to your advantage for better self-improvement and results.

Emotions

Some people are better at emotional intelligence than others.  However, we can all work on developing better EI.  It starts by having the willingness and working on better habits.

Improvements

If you value a mindset for self-improvement, choose lifelong learning.  It supports getting better than what you were yesterday.

Creator illustration examples

Being a blogger and vlogger, my examples will show how I use them.  My article readers also tend to be bloggers, so it’s relevant to my niche.  However, anyone else can relate by adapting the examples to their specific needs.

My 5 creator examples:

  • Task batching
  • Repurposing
  • Deep work
  • Time block
  • Avoid perfectionism

Task batching

Batch your tasks to save time.  Also, maintain the flow of good concentration.  Do similar tasks one after the other.

My creator example is scheduling social media posts.  It’s easier to tackle multiple posts at a time.  I often prefer doing so daily, tackling what I plan on my content calendar.

Repurposing

Repurpose your best-performing works, in addition to creating new original content.  Doing so not only saves you time but also supports your audience with helpful content.

I check my platform stats to see what worked best.  I also update my articles when relevant.  This supports working smarter and showing the best tips to more readers and social media followers.

Deep work

Doing deep work is best while avoiding distractions.  Some tasks need your full attention and flow.  Plan your agenda and time calendar accordingly.

Time block

Deep work for me, such as drafting and finalizing my blog articles, takes hours.  I prefer original work, showing my personality.  This requires time blocking for best results.

Avoid perfectionism

Life is about being yourself as well as improving.  However, perfectionism can get in the way of getting started.  There’s always room for improvement, so get started today.

I was, for example, considering when to start speaking videos.  I’ve done voice-overs before, but have been using Instagram music for months.  I didn’t overthink it and just published some speaking reels.

Whole life management gains

Life management brings holistic benefits.  It’s not just about a certain aspect, but touches other areas as well.  For example, you take a crucial action, start a new habit, and it has an overall impact.

Reduced stress

Feeling in control reduces stress levels.  I enjoy a great morning routine to start my day right.

Better results

Bring desired results by embracing better habits.  For example, by having a good meditation routine, you have better concentration.  You can then perform even better when working.

Slay goals

With life management, you tackle your goals.  Even if you don’t achieve something right away, you learn from your mistakes.  These are gainful lessons learned for the better.

Plan it out strategically

As a blogger and vlogger, I work from home, embracing a useful approach.  It’s a carefully thought-out process.  Knowing what I want to achieve for the long term, I take a strategic approach.

Strategy isn’t only for business.  It’s a handy approach to life, generally.  Your personal and professional goals can be different.  However, they’re still connected.

Through life management, you gain holistically.  For example, it’s not just how you woke up; it can be your mood for the day.  Next, it’s how productively you perform on that day.

Once work is finished, it’s how tired or energetic you feel.  How much did you enjoy dinner with your family?  How well you slept, and how joyfully you’ll wake up the next morning again.

Embrace your daily habits thoughtfully.  They impact days, months, years, and life.  One aspect of life also influences others.

Conclusion

Describing what life management is can go on endlessly.  However, it’s simply a holistic and better approach to life.  Content creator or not, you can use my ideas, adapted to your circumstances.
