Find slow living ideas to supercharge your blogging journey.  Staying on top of things is crucial.  However, so is taking enough ‘me-time’ to recharge for better success.

You may ask why would anyone prefer an unhurried approach.  In normal times, going fast tends to be the norm.  However, making things easier is also a must.

I work on my terms and also run Tips from Sharvi, my blog.  When I started my home office, I saw the need to organize my day thoughtfully.  I also started this site to share about self-improvement and productivity.

The emphasis on slaying my goals is crucial.  Yet, I also value taking time when needed.  You need both productivity and relaxation, avoiding burnout.

As a blogger, you’re likely to spend hours online a day.  Alternatively, you could prefer working for only a few hours a week.  Either way, a break from devices is the way to chill.

What’s slow living?

The term is quite self-explanatory.  However, I found a helpful article that highlights it helpfully.  Take a look at how Wikipedia explains it.

Slow living is a lifestyle which encourages a slower approach to aspects of everyday life,[1] involving completing tasks at a leisurely pace.’

Anyone faces times when they need serenity.  Blogger or not, you often need to reduce your pace.  By doing so, you can get back to productivity better.

When to slow down in life?

There can be many reasons to reduce your pace.  Burnout can happen to anyone.  You need to adopt habits carefully.

I take regular breaks throughout the day.  It helps to boost my productivity level.  I also drink enough water daily.

There are small, simple habits that can support you a lot.  Don’t overlook their importance.  Tiny actions add up and give a boost.

Prefer to be less hurried

Slow living and less hurried. Reducing your pace when needed is advantageous in the longer term.  Consider your strategic blogging goals.  They require daily work to reach them over months or even years.

If you experience burnout and get discouraged, you might give up soon.  Although a speedy result is often the most desirable, you might have to take time.  Doing so can often safeguard your long-term interest.

I chose to publish only 1 new article a week.  Although I know that creating more content could bring me results faster, I only do 1.  This has supported me to be consistent over 5 years (time of writing).

Find your best frequency.  If you can handle 2 or 3 a week, go for it.  As a solopreneur, you need to be realistic.  On the other hand, if you have a team that writes for you, do more.

AI is a fantastic tool to speed up work.  However, if you prefer original content, as I do, you’ll need to spend some time.  I use AI for research and enjoy writing original content.

The potential impact on creativity

To be creative, you need inspiration.  Doing so often requires the time to think, plan, and evaluate.  Take the time to come up with ideas, research, and consider the best options.

In chaos, it can be hard to be creative.  Turmoil might not be conducive to mindfulness.  On the other hand, calmness supports being in the moment.

Apply the ideas for yourself

Taken from my list above in this article, I’ll highlight using examples.  These are some of the ways that I’ve adopted the ideas.  They help me a lot, and I’m pleased to share them with my readers.

How I benefit:

  • Work from home self-care.  As a solopreneur, I hold myself accountable for progress.  I also ensure that I relax.
  • Incremental steps for progress.  I recognize that not everything can be achieved in a jiffy.  Moving gradually, but consistently is also a way to succeed.
  • Have a workspace that attracts creativity. As a blogger I need lots of innovation as well. I keep my home office simple and minimalistic. It’s clear of unwanted objects and helps me to focus.
  • Good balance.  With my desk, room, kitchen, and TV all nearby, I set boundaries.  I even have time to clock in and out.  I limit my screen time on weekends to enjoy moments.
  • It’s fun having a garden.  Even though I’m not into gardening as a hobby, I love nature.  It’s calming, inspiring, and relaxing.  I love posting reels on Instagram, although I don’t share them on my site.
  • Meditation is great. I’ve taken a mindfulness course to practice alone. I’ve also incorporated yoga into my morning routine.
  • Enjoy daily proper sleep.  I ensure that I get enough of it.  Neglecting rest can result in a lack of concentration.
  • Enjoy music with other tasks.  Flow music is a great working companion.  I stay away from loud music when I’m on my laptop.
  • Happiness and life lessons.  Learn from your failures.  Use them to avoid mistakes.
  • Be mindful of using colors. I love blue. I use it for my branding. It inspires serenity and trust.
  • Say no when needed.  I set boundaries, working from home.  I’m available during breaks and after my workday.  In case of emergencies, close ones can see me at any time.
  • Journaling. I keep a journal to track my goals. I reflect on both aspects, productivity, and self-care.
  • The value of gratitude is mesmerizing.  The thought of my morning coffee is a boost.  Think of your simple joys and appreciate them.

  1. This is a fantastic list. And I can attest that yes, burnout is very real. Sometimes instead of music, I will put have an ASMR video running in another tab with snow, wind, rain sounds, etc. when I am working. Thanks very much for sharing and have a fantastic day, Sharvina!
