Types of productive breaks
Take regular short rests, stay focused, and get into a flow state. Having a clear mind supports better creativity levels. On the other hand, when fatigue builds up, it’s counterproductive.

Prefer having an ergonomic desk and chair. Prolonged sitting can bring discomfort. I take a walk to stretch my legs from time to time.
Ensure enough ventilation in your office. In my home office, I enjoy a view of my lovely garden. When I move for a short rest, I also get plenty of fresh air.
Power naps are handy. They support better concentration. Certain workplaces are known to support it. As I work on my terms, I go for power naps at my discretion.
Social interactions are great for spending time with others. In the corporate world, lunchtime is often with colleagues. Solopreneurs are often alone but can choose to find social interactions in other ways. With limited time, phone a close one and ask about their day.
If you’re an artist or have a hobby, do some of it during your lulls. Some employers encourage employees to access the gym. As a solopreneur, I take initiative and practice what I enjoy, when I prefer.

Get yourself to keep a task aside for a while. Neglecting taking rest is a bad habit. It often leads to undesired results.
Get support if you tend to remain working for hours continuously. This can often be the case for solopreneurs. When you’re alone, there may be no one to remind you.
I often get absorbed in my tasks. However, I ensure that I leave my desk from time to time. When I return feeling fresh, it brings out the best in me.

In my experience, naps are excellent breaks. Oftentimes, the pause allows my subconscious thoughts to bubble to the surface.
