Life experiences contribute much towards your feelings and beliefs. Lessons learnt, impact the way you react, and take decisions. In this blog post, I’ll share life lessons that I believe are vital from the coronavirus pandemic, social distancing, and lockdown.
I provide evergreen content on my blog. Even though this post is linked to the current COVID-19 pandemic, life lessons are for a lifetime! Much of what I’ll share is linked to my personal experience and opinion.
‘The COVID-19 pandemic, also known as the coronavirus pandemic, is an ongoing pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID‑19) caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS‑CoV‑2). The outbreak was identified in Wuhan, China, in December 2019.[4][6] The World Health Organization declared the outbreak a Public Health Emergency of International Concern on 30 January, and a pandemic on 11 March.’ – Find out more on Wikipedia.

10 heartfelt life lessons from the lockdown:
1. No time for arrogance
The pandemic disease has brought significant changes to how people live their daily lives (at least during the lockdown period). From the biggest multinationals to the smallest local shops, people, in general, have had to adjust and take measures. Some industries are hit more than others. This reminds us that as humans, no matter how powerful or subordinate, we can all be at risk.
2. Better daily habits
Taking care of your health is a top priority. Great habits learnt should become natural habits so that people embrace them for a lifetime. See it as an opportunity to improve.
3. Stricter hygiene
Since the start of social distancing, I’ve seen many videos on social media showing the correct hand washing technique from the World Health Organization. Suddenly, this simple daily gesture gained so much importance. It’s a weapon for protection… a lifesaver!
4. Home-made food
Families are able to spend more time cooking together. I took the opportunity to try grandmother’s recipes and savouring tastier dishes. Such pleasurable experiences should be repeated often enough, if not daily.
5. How we communicate
Face-to-face meetings aren’t always possible, and people are using apps more often. Apart from social media usage, working from home has brought the need for video conferencing in people’s homes. Birthdays are being celebrated virtually! Take the time to reconnect with those close to you.
6. How people perceive grocery shopping
A normally much-despised chore for certain people, grocery shopping has manifested its importance. Whether you shop online, or your government allows you to visit the hypermarket with social distancing measures during the lockdown, this activity has become something that many people look forward to these days.
7. Personal finance
With a drop in economic activity, this is a time to review the way you spend and save. At the same time, see it as an opportunity to unsubscribe from services that you don’t need. Why not start a blog? This could be fun and a side-hustle.
8. Me time
People who normally neglect their self-care, have the time to rest if they choose to. Home spa treatments, yoga online sessions, meditation, proper sleep are just some of the wonderful things that we all need daily.
Spending more time at home, you can choose to make the most of self-care. In case you recently made it a habit to duly look after yourself, then don’t neglect it after the national confinement.
9. Life goals
Spending more time at home is an ideal opportunity to reflect, rethink, and set personal life goals. Know your life purpose and take the right actions to achieve what you desire. Many people need to reassess where they currently are and where they should head to, as from now. If someone loses his/her job, although a difficult period in life, it’s also time for a fresh start.

10. Self-improvement
Make the most of your time by learning new skills, start a new hobby, anything that supports your personal growth. Work on your morning routine, have a skincare routine, anything that adds value to your life. In other words, use your precious time to your advantage.
Conclusion
I’m sure that you’ve encountered some new experiences during the lockdown. A different way of life during the social distancing has brought about some positive changes. Make the most of the circumstances by adopting better habits for a lifetime. Would you like to share your thoughts? Please do so. Thank you!!

These are so true…I want to add that there’s really no definite playbook and this pandemic taught me how to be flexible and adapt in the situation.

I have learned to appreciate the things I used to take for granted. Without any public transport available in my area (lock down restrictions), I have walked more than I ever did before. I have learned to live life at a slower pace and accept that even if things don’t turn out as planned, it is okay. This is the best time to rethink our priorities in life.

Communication is huge, especially if you are quarantined with a loved one or partner. You don’t want your language to get misconstrued.

Great List! On the hygiene front I would also encourage people to maintain good oral hygiene, Goodness nows when any of us are going to be able to see our hygienists or dentists.
