Are you keen enough on achieving something to make it a priority in life? This could be about your family life, health, self-improvement, and so on… Intentional living can support you in your success goals (however you define those goals for yourself). In my blog post, I’ll highlight some key ways that intentional living supports your achievements.
Disclaimer: My blog is to be used for general information, inspirational, and motivational purposes. I share things that I’ve learnt and experienced. In case of need, do seek help from a professional in the relevant field.
As a self-improvement blogger, I’m a firm believer in living intentionally. It helps me much in working towards my set goals. There was a time when I was quite lost, not sure what to aim for. However, when I started my self-improvement blog and embraced intentional living, I never looked back!
‘Intentional living is any lifestyle based on an individual or group’s conscious attempts to live according to their values and beliefs. These can include lifestyles based on religious, political or ethical values, as well as for self-improvement.’ – as on Wikipedia
Here are 5 reasons intentional living helps to boost your achievements:
1. Life purpose
This is fundamental. When you know your life purpose, it makes figuring out what you want in life much easier. On the other hand, you could waste years putting effort into things that don’t bring the results that you truly desire. To begin with, choosing the right things that matter and for the longer term is key.

2. Life goals
With intentional living for self-improvement, you need to have valuable goals. Life goals guide you towards what you want to realize. Without any meaningful and clear goals, you might just waste your time without getting satisfactory results.
‘My goals have changed throughout my life. At one time it was winning awards, selling out concert dates, selling more albums than anyone else. Now, my goals are to see my grandchildren grown, live a long and healthy life with my family and friends and travel the world.’ – Reba McEntire

3. Determination
With a strong purpose for succeeding at your aspirations, determination helps to keep going. There will always be ups and downs in life. However, making sure that you’re still doing the right things, have relevant goals, and especially, not giving up are all important points.
‘I never could have done what I have done without the habits of punctuality, order, and diligence, without the determination to concentrate myself on one subject at a time.’ – Charles Dickens

4. Willpower
Closely related to being determined, willpower gives you more strength to keep going and not give in to temptations that distract from your goals. Intentional living is a lifestyle for ongoing self-improvement. Willpower boosts perseverance and ignores the distractions around.
‘When you have a limited theory of willpower, you’re constantly on alert, constantly monitoring yourself. ‘Am I tired? Am I hungry? Do I need a break? How am I feeling?’ And at the first sign that something is flagging, you think, ‘I need a rest or a boost.’ – Carol S. Dweck

5. Ongoing learning
Ongoing and lifelong learning are your allies for continuously becoming better than what you were yesterday. No one knows it all, and we can all learn at any stage of life. Those who make the most of it will always be progressing by growing personally.

Embrace intentional living
If you’ve seen the reasons and benefits for adopting such a lifestyle, then start optimizing it for yourself. If you’ve already embraced it, then keep going through highs and lows. Adopt the right daily habits that take you closer to what you want to achieve in life for success.

Conclusion
To sum up, intentional living is a lifestyle that supports self-improvement and helps boost your achievements. Adopt the right daily habits and don’t give up through good and bad times. This is wonderful advice Sharvi – I love the idea of intentional living. I write out my purpose and intention for the day every morning as part of my journalling routine. Willpower is an interesting one. I tend to think the secret to willpower is self-acceptance. Those who berate themselves instead of practising self compassion wear out sooner. I also find that motivation comes much easier to those who are at peace with themselves. Wishing you well Sharvi.

Living intentionally is something I began practicing ten years ago and it’s been very rewarding. I think that determination and willpower and probably the most important things when we live through the path of our own life’s purpose.

It is so important to understand the underlying life purpose that we each have, whether it be a steward of the earth, or service to others, we each have our roles.

I personally find that my life purposes vary sometimes, I prefer to be a steward of the earth with plants and animals myself.
